Hey everyone 😃

So OnePlus has two models up for grabs this year. One with 64GB storage and one with 128GB. If you had to choose, what version would you be getting and is the upgraded storage and ram capacity worth the $60 increase?

Would love to know what you all think!

Well, I did have to choose, and I chose the 8/128 black version.

Is it worth the extra £50? Probably not. 8GB of RAM is probably functionally useless at the moment, and I'm only using <20GB on my current phone...

But I wanted the power house, because reasons. And it's not like I can throw that extra 50 quid down if I wanna upgrade later... It's now or never.

I'd get the smaller version, to be honest. I'm one of those rare users that doesn't use a lot of space on their phones, so the smaller size would not be a problem for me.

64GB does seem like a lot of space. I currently have 64 and it's only about half full. but there is always that thing in the back of my mind saying. "Remember, no SD card". So wondering if may for long term 128 is worth it, but not sure.

Seeing as it does not have expandable storage, I belive that it is worth it, but 64 gigs is still a lot of storage, so it all depends on how much storage you think you need.

I would definitely get the 128 Gb version with the 8Gb of ram, more for the space I think the extra $60 is well worth it the extra ram to me is just a nice bonus

Planning when my budget allows, to go for the 128gb on a contract.
The difference on the payment monthly is very small, and offering a greater degree of wiggle room as I don't have any idea what my usage in term of space is going to be, as I have no modern android phone, using only a very old one from parents as an alarm clock.
I can't see the ram difference making a tangible difference to most users, but does look good on a spec sheet.
Many "plus" phones do tend to have some sort of spec boost, usually in the screen resolution which the OP5 does not do.
That may well be part of the reason, to have at least one bigger number that isn't the capacity, which while a far more tangible metric isn't "interesting" enough on its own.
Saying it has more ram sounds cool, and is going to attract interest even if most of that interest has no idea what difference it would make, which for most users is I expect absolutely none.

I tend to buy phones outright and have SIM only contracts, works out cheaper and have more freedom in terms of the networks and choices of phone to have! But yeah I'd probably purchase the 128GB variant because you can't complain with that amount of memory, plus the 8GB RAM is ridiculous for a phone! Also it just looks so good in that Midnight Black!

In my opinion 64GB is enough for any average user, and if you load it up, you can always remove out for other stuff. as for myself I have 128gb and it's 15% 20% full with 4 to 8 movies from Netflix have been downloaded and a lot of YouTube videos from YouTube Red. And I love it all.

My opinion is smaller version ,saves money and is still ok ram doesnt matter and i dont want too much space

I just ordered the 64GB version. Considering I'm using a KEYone with 32GB and no SD card slot, it'll be interesting to see how I like this.

Picked up the 128GB version and got it delivered yesterday. I wouldn't survive on the smaller counterpart without a micro SD slot. 15GB of music alone needed to be downloaded cause I don't have unlimited data.

Loving it so far. Though I had wished I could have gotten the soft gold.

Yeah, I think the data plan should be a consideration on non-expandable phones.
My current plan is due to budget a minimal data plan, 500mb per month most likely.
Perhaps I am the minority who doesn't really feel the need to be using a lot when out, instead planning most of my usage at home on Wifi.
