What Phone are you switching from?

I am moving from the OG Pixel 128 GB to the Pixel XL 128 GB. The OG has been the best phone I have ever used. I know some had mixed experiences with it, but I have not had a single issue with it for over two years now. Still trying to decide if I want to keep it as a backup/nostalgia or sell it to off set the price of the 3XL. I am sure I am like everyone else and checking my email for a tracking number every 30 min or so, ha. I know the notch is a bit of a downer, but I am super excited about what I have seen from the 3 and can't wait to have it in my hands. Its going to be tough to replace the OG as my all time favorite phone.

Original XL 128GB to 3XL 128GB. The Pixel XL has been an incredible phone and looking forward to the experience with the new 3XL. Thursday can't come quick enough!

If I switch I will get the Pixel 3 and retire my Ph-1. Just dread having the go through the crap of activating a BYOD phone on Sprint (with hunting done the right SIM and either having to get Telesales to ship it of go to a repair center and hope they have it in stock) again.

I'm switching over from an iPhone 7.
I've looked at the pixels last year and was intrigued, but still under contract.
This year I was comparing to the new iPhones and decided to give the Pixel a try.

I am coming from the OG Pixel XL 128 to the 3XL 128. Both black. The original has been solid, but the battery is starting to show its age. I look forward to some of the new tricks in the Pixel line, especially the Call screen and camera improvements.

Exact same for me, personally im not a fan of the new iPhone design path and the cost is absurd, im sure theyre fantastic phones but its not enough for me to upgrade. Pixel 3 i wasnt expecting to impress me as much as it has, like you i was intrigued by the 2 but the 3 just seems like a much refined Pixel...sort of how the iPhone 7/8 were of the 6.

I think the biggest turn off for me was Face ID. I really like the fingerprint sensor and reviews of the iPhone X Face ID weren't all that great. I agree on pricing. And the screen should also be a great improvement coming from the iPhone 7.

That was before I realized the free photo storage and free music library. Both of which I payed for with Apple.
That's what really pushed me over the edge! ;)

I had bought the iPhone X in April after giving up on the 2XL during the initial reviews. After a few months I was missing Google so I decided to order a 2XL and see if it was actually what I hoped for even with the screen issue. I really liked the design of the 2XL in Panda. However, the screen, and slowness of the phone was an issue. I didn't think I would notice any difference in speeds, but I really did. The iphone x has never had an issue and using the 2xl next to it was harsh so I sent it back. I have been Google since day one and the HTC Eris. However, after 6 months of the Iphone X and iwatch, I just don't know anymore about coming back to Google. My iphone is set up like my google phones, and I used Google for everything including music, photos, etc. Realistically, imessage and the iwatch is what keeps me at Apple. If Apple allowed these two things on the google phone, I probably would go back.

I'll be switching from a Samsung Galaxy S8. I just have too see the Galaxy S10 before definitely deciding on the Google Pixel 3.

I've only ever had iPhones since buying the 4S as my first smart phone.
Bought into the whole ecosystem with Apple, but always kept an eye out for whatever else was out there.
I too got the original Apple watch and using anything other than an iPhone wasn't an option.
Now the watch is so slow, I hardly ever use it anymore.
When I decided to buy the Pixel this year, my first Andriod ever, I also decided to give the Garmin active/smart watch and I'm really liking it so far.
I'm excited to see Google put in the Titan security chip on the Pixel, but that might just be a marketing gimmick as well.

I also had an iPhone X and tried 3 different 2XL's before returning back to my iPhone X. Once the Pixel 3 event came out I contemplated preordering and just can't do it. Like you said the iMessage and Apple watch plus the ecosystem iOS has is too much to give up.

I agree if iMessage was available on Android my decision would have happened a lot faster to preoder the Pixel 3. Ill be keeping my 7+ likely as a backup but dont expect to have issues, i never had any Google/Android issues with my 6P over the year i had it (my problems were associated to hardware). I dont have the iWatch but i do have the Air Pods, thankfully they work on Android (minus some features).

Also, how did you enjoy using google services on iOS? I found while theyre available the experience wasnt very good (no cohesive experience) and drained the battery a lot. Thats my experience anyway, i noticed this right away going to iOS from Android that was a hard adjustment because i much prefer Google's way.
