What phone(s) would you choose over your Nexus 5?

The simple answer is no.

I bought the Nexus 5 over two months ago and while I had some initial concerns of how "future proof" this device was as soon as I got it they have started vanishing.

Simply put this is still one of the best smartphones around, and will remain one after the Nexus 6 is released primarily because the Nexus 6 will be for those who like a 6 inch screen.

I have no complaints with the device, apart from battery life and this is one Android phone that an OEM has taken seriously. Google gave us updates and continues to do so to fix the issues with this device.

Plus I'm also extremely excited about Android L because I'll add passive voice activation, better camera features and a better battery live.

The Nexus 5 was developed from the LG G2 design. So I would go for the new LG G3 that is the only other phone that I like. However since I have T-Mobile I will need to get a phone that supports 700MHz LTE Band 12 A-Block since that is the high speed data service that T-Mobile is moving towards.

My Nexus 5 still is great and till I need a new Band-12 A-Block phone I will stay with my Nexus 5.

I switched from a Nexus 5 to the LG G2 because of battery life concerns. Huge difference in the LG G2 so far....

My vzw contract expired so I grabbed a n5 to play with. The nexus 5 signal, camera, and battery are all pretty awful. I can't take an indoor picture of my son on this phone and half the time the video won't focus either.

I don't think I'll consider trying another nexus. But since I hate skins I'm going back to moto with the new x. If I don't think that's worth the upgrade over the 2013 x I'll go back to that and pocket the difference from renewing my vzw contract.

The One Plus One shows how good specs can be cheap, N4 to N5 two and a half times the screen pixels, better graphics, LTE advanced, double flash option. SAME price on release, N5 to N6 double screen pixels, better graphics, LTE advanced, double flash option. 70% more costly, its as crazy as Nexus 9 flash upgrade price, 3 times the price of extra flash on Nexus 6.

But when Amazon was selling N9 for $100 less, I had to get the 32 GB, I know, go back to electronics anonymous.

None. If lollipop actually does improve the nexus 5 battery life by 35-40% then it will be perfect for me.

Moto X i guess, mainly because of its almost practically vanilla experience with nice Moto touches

Those who said clean and fast covered it for me. I like my Nexus 5 and won't be switching any time soon.

I don't plan on switching anytime soon.
I've had my n5 since launch day, but if I did, it would only be for the n6. :-)

Sticking with my Nexus 5 for now, but my wife's LG G3 is really nice and will be great once it gets Lollipop.

It's easy to look at the 'latest and greatest' and wish one had held off, but that's a never-ending cycle. So long as I make the right decision for what I'm seeking from a pool of contemporary devices (not considering devices whose release/specs are not 100% confirmed), I don't ever have any regrets when newer models come out. Envy or an itchy wallet, maybe, but not regret.

As it is now? I love my Nexus 5 - there's no area in which I feel it has any kind of deficiency that keeps me from doing anything I want to do, and to doing it well. There are other phones available now that I do think are better, but still none that are a better value. Heck, I may even resist whatever temptation the Nexus 6 might offer and hold off another year unless it offers some quantum leap over the 5 in functionality...

Well freaking said. I love my nexus 5 for now and don't have phone envy for anything else. That may change next year when 64bit phones come out, but I'll probably keep my N5 for another year until something compelling comes out. Getting another 32 bit phone right now doesn't make sense to me considering the N5 is still blazing fast and does everything I need.
