What phone to get

What S5 should I get in the US and be able to use it in Eastern Europe with just swapping out sim card?

Talking about getting full price phone non contract.

Verizon? AT&T?

Would I need to root either to work or should they work out of the box?

AT&T or Tmobile. I would suggest TMo, just because I think that phone is banded for more international carriers. And it should just be a sim swap.

I'm currently using Tmobile right now. Their service is pretty good, but there are still some dead spots even in the city.

But if you just want to use internationally, I prefer to just buy an unlock phone online and use Tmobile sim card. So you can change later on easily!
