I know what you're talking about... think I might have DL that already... lol

uh yeah... forgot to make a nandroid of stock... lol

And our Sprint store must be slow or something b/c they won't even attempt to clean dust from under the screen. Had that problem with my Hero and they refused. :/

I have minds lol is it safe to run it even thought your rooted

Yes it safe to run, that's why it's called rooted stock. If you where to restore that all you are doing is running your stock rom and kernal which is rooted. You would not beable to oc'd it, but could use apps that require root access.

With a stock nandroid, will it show in the "about phone" area that it is rooted or will it show all stock info?

The only thing that I'm pretty sure that it would show is the superuser app

Yeah, that's what I figured. I'm going to just go ahead an fully return to stock before I take it in. That way if it has to be replaced, I don't run into any problems with them or LG.

Yes but if you using adw launcher you can hide those apps that require root so they can not see them, even if they open up your app drawer. This is what I did twice now(every couple of months dust removal). Buy the way I go to a sprint Cooperate store.

I'm using Go Launcher... but I can always switch back to Launcher Pro for that too. But if they send it back to LG, won't LG figure it out rather quickly? Afterall it's the manufacturer warranty that rooting voids?

I think you are worrying too much. Based on what people who work for Sprint have told me, it isn't cost effective to try to find the one in a thousand person whose phone problem might be due to rooting. If your phone boots into stock, the odds that anyone will take the time to see if it has been rooted are next to zero. Sprint is also doing its best right now to emphasize customer service--my last two experiences were so positive it made me wonder if I was really dealing with Sprint.

Of course, this is just my opinion. I hope you get your problem fixed soon. :)

Ok if it is a touchscreen problem they can do that right in the store (most of the time)! I had my touchscreen replaced in the store(water damaged, but dont tell them that! :p) Took them about a hour to do. Pretty much the same process as cleaning out the dust except they put the same screen back in
Once you install the nandroid of stock VD they can not tell looking at the about phone because about phone does not tell you what recovery you have only baseband version, kernel version, android version and build #. Once you put stock VD back it will all be normal looking! like rignt out of the box!

And yes it's the manufacturer warranty that rooting voids.
