Guys and gals,

I had long given up on OnePlus 2, but just got an invite. I could get a 64Gig for about $408 (includes shipping). I have also ordered a Nexus 6P 64Gig, which with the Google protection plan was about $650. What should I do?

I was in the same boat few weeks ago, I havent ordered the 6P yet but I was done with the whole invite crap with OP.

But yeah 6P will be a overall better experience.

The same situation happened with me. I passed up the OP2 invitation and am now waiting for my sexy Nexus 6P!

I got the OPT invite the day before the formal Google Nexus event. The problem was the invite was only good for 24 hrs, and the event was 27 hrs later. So I ordered the OPT, and when I saw the Google presentation, I decided the N6P is what I really wanted. I could not cancel the order, so when it came, I didn't open the box. I sold it a few days ago on ebay. Now I am anxiously waiting for my N6P!

I personally go with 6P because because hardware vs hardware your getting upgrade in display(Higher Resolution/Pixel Density), camera(Is still to be determine but safe to say camera will be better),processor(6PClocked Higher) and Battery.(The same and too be determine on 6P. Again it's probably save to say the 6P with Doze,Ambient Disply and Android Hub (Hub is hardware component exclusive to Nexus). The battery life at the least should be samee but 6P has potential to be better.

The 6p is slightly taller and wider but is thinner and higher build quality. OP2 is far more customisable in software and aesthetic. The designs of phones are all in preference.

Now if the camera and battery life turn out to be the same you. Nexus 6P still has better and bigger display with support of Google. You have Nexus Protect program.

Man, I've been in that situation before when I realized I didn't want the phone that was already being shipped. I told myself I won't open it and just sell it brand new. I wasn't strong enough...I opened it anyway. Good on you!

I have received 5 OnePlus 2 invites, and I l let them all expire... The 6p is a better phone over all. Better screen, software, fingerprint placement (my meaning), better speakers and hopefully better camera :)

Definitely the Nexus 6P.

  • The OP2 customer service is terrible
  • It offers nothing above the 6P
  • Oneplus need to learn that to do the invite system they need to offer one of the best phones on the market

The two 1+1s in my house have been pretty finicky, especially with connectivity and random restarts. They have been decent overall, but the hiccups drive me a bit nuts. The 6p looks like a better phone, not even counting potential software hiccups on the 1+2. I've had 1+2 invites, but I let them expire. 6p was an easy decision. Plus, I've been wanting a nexus for a long time, and this finally looks like the right one.

If you can wait (and it won't burden you financially), I'd just wait for the 6P. I have a OnePlus 2 that I'm returning and while it's a great phone, it doesn't measure up. The extra money you'll pay for the 6P will be worth it. The battery is slightly bigger, the camera will surely be better (and faster!) and you'll get super fast updates! If the OnePlus 2 had NFC this would be a tougher sell, but since you can't even download Android Pay to use on in-app purchases, I don't think I can recommend it. It was so close to being an enjoyable phone, but the 6P is gonna blow it out of the water.

The OP2 doesn't have NFC? What kind of flagship phone doesn't have NFC nowadays? Even the freaking iPhone has it now for cripes sakes.

That would seriously be enough for me to say nope.

Nope. It was a big blog spectacle for OnePlus when it was first announced. I don't use Apple Pay on my iPhone 6 now, so I figured I wouldn't be bothered by it, but there are more features in Android Pay that I could see myself using (like gift cards and loyalty cards). It's especially stupid because an NFC sticker probably costs pennies to include. The 6P checked off nearly all of my boxes.

Thank you everyone. Based on your feedback, I decided to ignore the OP2 invite, and wait for Nexus 6P. It's interesting, out of all the replies my post got in this forum (and all the others I received when I cross-posted this thread in OP2's forum on AC) not one person recommended that I go with OP2!

Here is to hoping that Nexus 6P will be shipped soon and won't disappoint all of us.

Got my one plus invite an hour ago...its tempting and if I had the money to get it as well, I would. But I'm sticking with the 6p and hopefully it's a hell of a device.

One plus is madly overhyped it was a let down just like the first one

Personally I'd keep the Nexus 6p order that you have. 1 feature that is important is NFC for Android Pay and the OP2 doesnt have that feature which is weird.

I agree about the hype with the OPT, but the OPO was a great phone. I had some battery issues with the last update, but that has worked itself out. I cannot think of a single bug I have with it. I love the size, weight, and screen. It also has NFC. That said, when my OPT came, I sold it immediately to get the N6P.
