What should I do prior to sending phone for repair?

I'm looking for advice on what I need to do to safeguard my data before shipping my phone to the Samsung repair center. I've already backed up my content to a computer using Samsung Smart Switch.

A couple days ago I had the phone in my front pants pocket. I was carrying an armload of boxes, and didn't see a low table sticking out into a walkway. I hit the corner of the table square on the phone, apparently scoring a direct hit on the rear camera cutout of my case. DO'H! Only the camera lens cover glass was damaged. It's shattered and part of it is missing. There seems to be no damage to the rest of the phone.

I've found replacement glass and kits online to make the repair. I could probably do this myself for around $10 in parts, but I prefer to preserve my warranty / water resistance rating.

Rather than paying a $299 insurance deductible, I'm sending it to Samsung for repair--the estimate is $70. While the phone is in the shop, I'll be using my previous phone, an iPhone 7+. (Ugh.)

I don't like to be cynical, and I hope to avoid restoring the phone to factory settings before sending it in, but if there's no middle ground, I might just do that.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Kevin

If you're looking to protect your data, then factory resetting is your only option. Anything else and you take your chances of someone at Samsung getting it.
