What should succeed a Nexus 5X...

Hi all, my Nexus 5X has finally succumbed to bootlooping temptation, so it's new phone time (LG are trying to repair it, so I'll sell whatever comes back from them).

All-day battery life is pretty important to me, as is size; I have big-ish hands but not sure I want a phablet as I'd find it a bit difficult to use quickly or sneakily (e.g. at work).

Current contenders in my head are the S8, G6, Pixel (wildcard) or the LG V20 (wildcard, phablet, problems, can't help wanting it :/).

I am not a huge fan of the curved screen on the S8. The G6 feels like the best option right now, especially as I have a trip to the USA coming up in July so I can pick one up a bit cheaper (I'm from the UK).

Currently using my work iPhone 7 as my daily phone - it's not bad and I like the hardware feel but it's confirmed that I want an Android.

Any and all advice welcome Let me know if I missed anything out that might help

Regular Pixel. Best on security, best on software, best on build materials (V20 is also good), best on camera, acceptable amoled display; best all around device.
Execptions: If best display is most important, go S8. If best audio is important, go V20. G6 is out no matter what IMO, every other device on the list does most things equally or better.

I updated to the Pixel from a 5X (voluntarily...there was nothing wrong with the 5X). And I like it. Great phone. If you like the look of vanilla Android, that is the phone I would get.

Water Resistance S8 = G6 > Pixel > V20 = S8
Camera Pixel > S8 > G6 > V20 Winner = Pixel
Storage Pixel > S8 = V20 > G6

Thanks all for the input - Aquila im surprised you rate the G6 so low, having a look at the reviews and the youtube reviews people seem to hold it in quite high regard? I think that the Pixel is overpriced for what it is, if i'm honest, so that's an outside bet for me.

The V20 is best bang-for-buck as far as I can see, but I'd prefer a smaller phone.

The G6 is a great phone IMO, it just isn't a leader in very many categories. In my assessment, it wins 0 categories, but that does not imply that it is bad in any or all categories, just that something is edging it out on each category. So I'm not rating it a 0, I'm saying it's the absolute winner in 0 categories. If I was going to rank them all on a 1-10 scale, I'd probably go something like this:
