What SMS messenger app do you use?

I have the international version of the MHA_L29 and I don't really care for the stock app.
Looking for something better.

Google Messenger because it has Gifs and RCS which shows me when messages are sent/received or the person is typing. Also I can send larger photos.

try and look on the app store for a specific SMS app to use, otherwise I recommend you use Skype, or Google Hangouts!

That's what I was doing. I just wanted to know specifically what people who use this phone were using if not using stock.

I'm using Textra. Able to customize contacts notification sounds, colors, etc. Also does group SMS. Easy to use. I want to try google messenger, but I think others will have to use the app as well? For those who have google messenger, please correct me if i am wrong.

Google messenger because it's just seamless. Textra is my second favorite. I kind of like the stock messaging app but GIFs from the Google Keyboard don't work with it.

I may try these oyher SMS apps you guys are talking about. I never used anything other than the stock messaging app.

Not sure you can set Skype as default messenger, only default phone option.

But otherwise, the way to set a default option for an app on the M9 is
