For sms... From Monty Python... a sound of the arrow flying and hitting the tree... then the heavy British accent saying "message for you sir". If you remember from the movie (holy grail)... the arrow comes in with a message on it.

For email... I have Homer Simpson saying "Doh". Always gets a chuckle when people hear it.

Funny you mention Homer Simpson. My ringtone is a house track someone remixed with Homer yelling "D'OH!" on every 4th beat! Got that from Zedge, too. For e-mail and missed calls, I have the Price is Right losing Horns!! My mom always gets a kick out of that one.
