What to get if you return your Nexus S 4G.

If the signal issue is not fixed buy the end of the month I am going to return my Nexus S. I am just wondering what you plan to replace it with if you do return your phone. I don?t think the Evo 3D will be out by then so I am looking at what is currently available. I had high hopes for this phone and I really like it but I just can?t use it in places where other sprint phones work fine. I?m not going to stick it out and later find out it?s a hardware issue that can?t be fixed or a Samsung software issue that may require 6 months before they get around to addressing it. So what would you get or what are you planning to get?

Rumors are that the EVO 3D will be out first week in June. That would be the only other Android device to get that isn't a year old.

If you are returning a phone that you purchased very near launch, I'd avoid purchasing another phone that hasn't at least been out a few months and gotten some updates. So I'd say return it and wait a bit or get something like an EVO or maybe an Epic.

I have no problems with my NS4G, but only Epic 4G and EVO Shift look like they will be getting Android 2.3.3 sometime soon. BTW Google writes the software for Nexus. Samsung just provides the hardware. I don't know what phone to recommend as the current ones all have poor GPS, signal issues, and bad battery life issues too.

I am not sure that is entirely true. Google does provides the OS that runs these phones, however I believe the radio drivers are supplied by the equipment manufacturer, in this case Samsung, not Google.

I would probably get the Evo Shift again and get the difference on my money back then wait for the Evo 3D to come out

Exactly. The Evo 3D will surely have its bugs and issues too. Wouldnt make sense to go from a Nexus about to get a fix to a 3D plagued by issues at launch and have to wait even longer.

I thought the EVO was also slated to get gingerbread after the EVO3D was released?

i prefer a dev phone. ive really enjoyed not having any carrier interference on my hardware. however, im gonna play with the evo 3d and if i like it, i may return a NS4G. multiple mindsets help me to think about trying to wait for quad core...since my ns4g powers through everything...and everyones always grabbin at my device to play games smoothly.

the evo 3d or the galaxy s2 that is also comign to sprint in the new future.

The Galaxy S2 would be nice. The only thing is that Samsung will have to get their act together with the updates. I like their hardware but the updates need some work. That's why I got the Nexus.

yeah me too, the galaxy s2 would be awesome. but i'd rather have the new ice cream update first over the newer hardware. and the nexus s4g is no slouch either.
