What will be the Pixel 5 trade in value?

Most importantly, it's different!

It's one of those rare phones you don't get tired of when past the honeymoon phase.

You just cannot say that for many devices these days.

Moto Razr 5G, Astro Slide, F(x) Tec Pro 1 are other examples of this.

Your right about that, its different.

Nah way too big, not into huge slabs. I'll just dual carry my 4a with the Titan Pocket. I'd kind of rather single carry a KEY2 but I'm just tired of Android 8.1 Ore-old.

If I get tired of the dual setup I'd probably go for a Fold 3. I'm shocked how much cheaper they already are on Swappa compared to retail, it's only been out two months.

LOOL at Ore-old.

I just ran the trade in configurator on the Google Store, selecting Verizon as my carrier. Quoted $250 for a trade in. That's mighty low, and they reserve the right to lower the value upon receiving the phone. Hard pass.

That's so disappointing. And who knows what they'd quote the phone as final trade-in value when it gets to them. Very disappointing.

Indeed. On the bright side, it removes the temptation to spend on the Pixel 6 Pro and bin my trusty Pixel 5. Its the old "bird in the hand" idea. If you have a mobile that's operating flawlessly there is wisdom to keeping it. And my most recent experience with Google was not inspiring at all.

Exactly. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm going to hang onto my Pixel 5 and maybe if the Pixel 6 or upcoming iteration is tempting in the next year or more, I'll consider it.

I checked last night on my P5 trade in value from Google and it was $366 towards a P6. You want to see something crazy? Go to Best Buys website and look at the price of a Geek Squad refurbished P5. They want $629 for a refurbed P5!!!!!

Wow! What a discrepancy!

Either the P5 is still hot in demand, which is what I'm thinking. And my reasoning is it's size and some features on it that the P5a5g doesn't have. The form factor of the P5 is awesome. My wifes P5a is not all that bigger, just missing the features of the P5.

What did you do with your S10? Backup phone?

I totally agree with you. I'm loving the form factor of my Pixel 5. What freaks me out is that if something happens to it, I'm not sure if Google Preferred Care will give me a refurbished 5 or just throw a 5a at me.

Yes, it is a back-up phone now! Sometimes I miss using it! I was going to give it to my mom to replace her cracked screen S10 but she moved to Florida and will get a US device soon!

I agree with you 100%! I absolutely love my pixel 5! It's great! Battery life is amazing, performance is what you expect from a Pixel etc!

My wife received her new P5a5g last Sunday. Now it might not be that much larger than my P5, but ya can't control it with one hand like I can with my P5. The P5 really is a one handed phone. The size of the P6 is a major concern of mine. And the trade in value from Google on my 11 month old P5 is only 366 bucks. Yet Best Buy is selling the Geek Squad certified refurbished Pixel 5 for $629 bucks. Looks like me and my P5 are gunna be partners for a while, and I have zero issues with that.

Yep yep I definitely agree with you! My Pixel 5 is definitely one handable phone without a doubt! That's one of the things I love most about it!

I'm still surprised how Google managed to fit a 4000mAh cell into that Pixel 5 body, it's quite impressive.

My Titan Pocket also has that same capacity, but it's also 216g heavy and 16.8mm thick lol.

If I buy the Google Fi version of the 6 my trade-in value is $366 for my Pixel 5.
If I buy the Verizon version of the 6 my trade-in value is $250 for my Pixel 5.

And I'm at their mercy to honor their quote because they reserve the right to re-evaluate upon receipt.

No thanks. The Google Support CS reps are all aces. But I'm not feeling so trusting towards Google as a whole. The only reason I have a (superbly) working Pixel 5 is that I bought one from user jhaire08 in this Marketplace. Google seemed incapable of getting me a replacement after almost two weeks when the one I bought directly from Google crapped out after just 12 hours.

Oh yeah, I completely agree with you. Pixel 5 is only 6 in bench to edge. Cramming in a 4,080 mAh battery inside of the phone is a good feat. My battery is a beast!
