What's the best blurless rom for 2.2.1?

There are a few stupid little things that annoy me about Blur. With Vanilla Android, I can set a direct dial shortcut. With Blur I can't (full contact info only). The shortcut for the contact search is different from the standard contact search in Blur.

Stupid little annoyances like that build up and make me want to look for something else that's blur free.

No doubt, DarkSlide gets my vote. The latest version is 4.0 with 2.3.340 base.
Head on over to MyDroidWorld and check it out. Reports of Quarant scores in the 16s, 17, and 18s. Doesn't seem to matter if you get the Blurred or Blurless, it's fast and snappy. Everything works and it's supported very well by BBCrackman and Gatesjr. Those two know what they're doing and the ROM is solid.

My latest Quadrant score was 1688 using the Blur version. Oh, and it makes a really good cup of coffee also. :p

+1

Darkslide is the way to go, especially with ADW Launcher EX. My phone has never ran better, smoother or faster. Also, I'm overclocked at 1.2 GHZ stably, but its not really needed. As far as the Quadrant score, although its importance varies depending on who you ask, my first score was almost 1600. I would definitely recommend this rom to everyone and I haven't been tempted to try another one, although I'm sure the others are great as well.

liberty 1.0 is pretty blurless and super fast... and sometime this week liberty 1.5 will be released... should be pretty slick...

i am still an apex kinda guy, like some blur elements. but that is the nice thing about android, i can customize this phone to my likings. hell if i wanted an iphone, i could make this droid run and look just like one!!! ( although that would never happen!!)

I'm looking for a good, fast, clean 2.3.40 based ROM with no Blur at all. I'm currently running Apex 1.3 and like it except for the Blur elements it has. Any suggestions?

Like you, I'm running ApeX, but may go back to a blur-less ROM for similar reasons. Also, for my eye's sake, I prefer as close to the stock Froyo apperance as possible, rather than the predominant black appearance. You might want to check out Fission, which I didn't see mentioned in this thread. You can find it here (didn't find a link on this forum): [ROM]Fission 2.5.7 DroidX - Vanilla Generic Android - AOSP Like - Fission ROM Manager - xda-developers

Toward the bottom portion of the first post, there is a link to the instructions and download page on the Team DeFuse website. Then on the bottom of that linked page, you'll see a few options. The one I'd previously used was the Fission FroYo Theme Full ROM for Droid X (2nd to last download choice).

In all honesty I think as close as you are going to find to the "pure" google experience for the X is GummyJar. Every ROM out for the X has some blur that can not be removed. Gummy I think has the most removed of all the ROM's.
