I was looking at the black rubber dot on the back bottom of the phone near the kickstand because it doesn't sit flush with the case. I'm curious about its purpose. Anyone know why it's there?

I was also wondering. I see that after market cases provide a cutout for it.

I was wondering this too. I have seen in forums where people have said it's an antenna. So I'm wondering if that's true... will the cases that DON'T have the cutout cause connectivity issues?

Push it and see what happens - report back ASAP. :D

That is where you would plug in an external antenna. The FM radio antenna is the headphone cord.

Ha! that's funny! Phil said it was for celluar antenna add-on I believe, my question is that I thought the add-on antenna went at the door years ago with the way of the dinosaur?

He's correct, this is for an external antenna. And as for the comment that it went out years ago, not really. Some people actually use it to boost their reception in very poor service areas.
