what's the difference?

I have the M7, just wondering what the difference is between mine and the HTC ONE M7 Google play edition?

Um, which M7 do you have? Are you asking hardware or software differences?
In the US they had CDMA and GSM versions. The GSM was the closest hardware wise to the GPe unit.
Overseas there were a couple of different variations of GSM for different bands and protocols.
But if yours is an ATT or TMO M7 then its almost identical to the GPe version hardware wise. Now software is way different.

HTC said they were commited to giving the carrier variants of the M7 and M8 the lollipop update 90 days after Google officially hands it off to them.
So between now and the next 2.5 months.
