Moto X 2014. Had problems restarting, would freeze up for like 12-15 hours on restart. I was told to wipe the cache partition. I did that and it seems to have fixed that problem, but now it has a really noticeable lag, and it seems like the battery doesn't want to charge. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? My contract obligation is up next month, may be time to move on to something else?

You have lag after clearing the cache? Odd. I just cleared my cache this weekend to get rid of lag (it worked, by the way). Maybe try doing another cache clear?
As for the battery, make sure your charging cable is fully plugged in. My Moto X is finicky in this regard, and I have to be careful to keep the cable in the right place or it pops out.
