What's your backup? Let's talk about it!

Back up phone my Nokia Windows phone,
Must have an Original Nokia with me it's a long time habit Twenty years, they just keep working and can fit new battery in seconds. But the Pixel is excellent to use and probably the best Android phone as Google intended, tried a Samsung phone a while back never again.

I LOVED my Windows Phone Nokia ICON! I was really hoping that Microsoft would advance their software, rather than work off Android for their new phones, but that didn't happen. Bummer! I have been using a Pixel 2, which I really like, but don't want to purchase the new Windows Phone because it's so expensive, and not using Microsoft exclusive software. Maybe 3 or 4 years from now it will be compelling ... but not now. I'll purchase the Pixel 5 for now.

My Nokia Icon was one of my fave phones as well. Have you ever tried the square home 2 launcher? Sometimes when I'm feeling nostalgic I install it from a file and run it awhile. Closest launcher to windows mobile that also runs the smoothest and is so customizable.
For my taste the new surface duo is to buggy, slow and to clumsy big. Oh, and too pricey for sure.
I'm still limping along on a pixel 2 but will most likely pickup a pixel 5 eventually when my battery completely turns to mush on the 2. Trying to warm up to that under display speaker on the pixel 5. I'm not quite there yet. Lol! The pixel 2's speakers just sound so frickin' good to me.

DD iPhone 12 Pro Max; backup is LG V50. Both on Verizon. Backup to the backup is Nokia 929 Windows phone. Love me some Nokia WP.

My "emotional support" backup phone is my motorola razr v3. I can angrily snap it shut when I hang up on someone on my Pixel.

I still have a pixel 3a i purchased for my wife, but now her job gave her an iPhone so that became a spare. I transferred from the Pixel 4 XL to my Pixel 3a temporarily after selling the Pixel 4 XL in order to prepare to upgrade to the Pixel 5 and get the $ out of it. I ended up selling the Pixel 4 XL for $550 on swappa and ended up using the Pixel 3a for 2 months. I was actually surprised how well it runs really shocked me. It felt like I was still using my Pixel 4 XL as far as the user experience with it of course not being as snappy, but it sure made me appreciate the small factor and it got me even more excited for the pixel 5 smaller form factor. That being said I was thinking on getting rid of the P3a, but then thought about it and figured if people could get a Pixel 4a for $349 what kind of $ would I really be able to get for the Pixel 3a and then I realized who knows it could come in handy in the future as a backup phone so I decided to keep it.

On another note some people say that moving from the P4 XL to the P5 is not an upgrade, but for me it was. The things I was looking for was smaller form factor, bezeless display, ultra wide camera, 4k60fps video, exceptional battery life and having double the storage compared to what I had on my P4 XL which was 64.

Sorry I got a little off topic here, but I'm really enjoying this phone.

I think I'm gonna go for a oneplus 7pro. Can grab a decent one in the 300 range and I can port the gcam apk. However, all this can change as I keep looking up all the phones you all are talking about...lol

Nice nice, good for you! I mean the OnePlus 7 pro is still a great phone! And will still get regularly software updates from OnePlus...

I have several, but my Moto Z Play would be the obvious choice. Still has some Moto Mod battery packs too that have some charge.

I have a Nexus 5X lying around as an emergency backup. The Pixel 3a would make for a great backup, if you need to buy another phone.

Old School..... I like it B! lol. I'm not far behind.... I had a Moto Z3 Play as a backup, but it backed right out of working and in to refund/exchange mode. So now my backup is once again my ancient but still strong running Moto X Pure Edition :p

That's too funny lmao. I have a Motorola razr, a couple of the Sony Ericsson black and orange "music editions", and a couple Samsung flips in the closet.....all still work, but my wife's are worse for the wear from a little too much "angry snapping". In fact she snapped one of the Sony Ericssons pretty much in half. She does love her flip phones :D

The LG G8 backs up my Galaxy S20 FE. The G8 is actually a pretty fantastic device.

I traded in my 3A XL when I got my 4A but I still have my old Moto X4 as a backup. It was still getting security updates to the October 2020 one. Considering putting Lineage OS on it.
