Yep, I was happy with the simplicity of Android Messages but I like to use different colors for each contact as it's a great visual reference of who I'm talking to and when they took the colors away with this new material design 2 that is making every Google app bland and colorless that was the deal breaker for me.messages until they took the colors away. pulse now.
Allo is/was great. If it would have done SMS as well it could have pushed forward I think and gotten people on the platform. I don't understand some of Google's decisions.^^This
And really, who among us Google fans is not tired of trying to get others to use an app or service that Google created, nerfed, failed to support, then killed? That is where I am at, just tired. There are only so many times I can get the non-techies around me to try the new thing. This is where I'd like to see Google focus more -- complete the development of just 1 of your "universal/unified communication" apps, pleeeease.
I use Verizon’s Message+ and will continue to do so until RCS is implemented on all carriers.
One advantage to it is I can use it on my iOS device to text from the Android number.
