Whats your first impression of your new Moto X!?

What was your EST shipping date before you got it?

This question was never answered! I am almost eager to know, because I am expecting mine to come in the 13th of October, even though it said a week ago that it was being assembled... Anyone has around the estimate date but already received the phone?

So far, I love the form factor. Moto Assist is even better. I'm not sure about the LTE bands though, I'm already noticing it's slower than my Note 3 was on download speeds. It almost seems like it times out for 10 seconds or so.View attachment 138247View attachment 138248

Don't forget that the Note 3 has Download Booster that uses LTE and Wifi for downloading. I think that makes it faster.

How does the leather seems look? Like they would peal up? Are they raised or tuked under another edge?

This is my concern about the leather too -- will it come loose or tear from the edges or dimples over time. And what's underneath if that happens.

the cognac leather is amazing feeling. The Pure edition still has the gap between WiFi and signal bars.

Still trying to get this answered: are the plastic backs soft-touch or hard plastic? On the 2013 model this varied based on color.

My black Moto X has soft-touch plastic. It's a fingerprint magnet though.

Almost identical. The leather back makes the difference for me though, much nicer tactile feel than the metal. Moto X is a tiny bit heavier but perfectly comfortable to hold.

The back side of the iPhone 6 just looks dated for some reason. I can't really place what it is. On the otherhand the new X with the more angular edges just feels tighter and more expensive. I do like how you feel cold metal when you first pick up the 6.

What phone were you coming from? When I got the first gen motox, I had to have AT&T provision my account with the proper lte plan since I was coming from a blackberry plan.

If anyone's wondering, I'm a big fan of the Hula Bumper Case. I threw one in my MotoMaker cart when I bought my phone, and I'm very impressed. I won't use it all the time, but it provides just the right amount of grip and protection for those times when you're going to be in situations where you might be more prone to dropping your phone. While it does completely cover up the metal trim, it looks nice and doesn't detract from the overall look of the phone OR signal quality.

Thanks for the input! Definitely planning on ordering one if/when I upgrade to the 2014 model (probably not before Christmas.)

I posted my settings on that thread which seems to work for 4G LTE on the unlocked GSM X. APN settings came over automatically from the AT&T sim.

This is the 'biggest' phone I've ever had but it doesn't feel that big because of how rail thin it is and how light it is.

Big shout out to the Motorola Migrate app. Didn't think I needed that but I did and it was perfect.

No comment on signal and battery life yet. I was plugged in and using wifi last night.
