What's your preferred SMS App?

Everyone has a different opinion on what they like best. Some go for simplicity, some want a hub where all their messages appear. So which do you like the best? :D

I prefer Hangouts as a heavy hangouts user, having all my messages go to one app is awesome :)

I use Google Messenger. I hate the ugly icon so I just use a third-party app to change it. I used to use Hangouts but they don't allow you to delete contacts. I have an ex-associate in my contacts that I can't get rid of. They allow you to hide it but it's not good enough.

Google Nexus 6P

I used to use a lot of 3rd party SMS clients for all the extra features. But over time I found that I just like to treat SMS messaging as simple as it could be. So I use Hangouts. Simple and straightforward. If I ever need to backup my SMS messages I just install an SMS Backup app, back them up, then uninstall the SMS Backup app.

I have been a loyal Textra user for years. It has gotten better and better with every update.

Used to be chomp. I even bought it twice. Once via PayPal and once in the market. Switched email accounts so I didn't pony up for it yet. Prefer it to hangouts, but hangouts works for me.

Hangouts on moto G it's handy because all msgs in one place from text SMS and hangouts if your a power user it's the best, but my LG G4 hangouts doesn't notify me when new text SMS arrive seems the msg arrives but no notification so use textra on LG

Ah, texting apps...

I LOVED Chomp SMS - I loved the customization. Then it began to glitch; so I tried a few others and ended up with Textra. I really liked it, and upgraded to the Pro version. Their support staff was excellent - you could message them with a glitch and they would have it resolved/have a response sent to you in a matter of hours/a day or two. Really good tech support, so I wanted to support them. Not as heavy on the customization front as Chomp; but they were still quite good n that regard.

Now that I have my LG G3, I'm trying to stick with the stock messaging app that came with the device - I like the theme customization for each contact; and the font can be changed (overall on the phone, but still) and the speech bubbles, so I'm pretty happy with it. I'm also trying to minimize the amount of apps on my phone - trying to keep things simple. However, if I had to choose an app, it would be Textra Pro.

I MISS BBM!

I deleted it because no one used it... So sad. I think it's the best messaging app for cross-platform devices (/mostly? Has WP been added yet; or has nothing come of that... ?)/in general; but yeah... No one seems to listen!
