What's your preferred SMS App?

I keep flip-flopping from Google Messenger, Hangouts, and Signal. I do hope that the new messaging service Google comes out with is encrypted.

What would you suggest for texting for my kids who have our old S4 phones on WiFi only (i.e. not included in our VZW phone plan)?

I set them up on Skype because that's what I use for work.

Is there anything else that will work via WiFi only?

I MISS BBM!

I deleted it because no one used it... So sad. I think it's the best messaging app for cross-platform devices (/mostly? Has WP been added yet; or has nothing come of that... ?)/in general; but yeah... No one seems to listen!

It's funny I loved blackberry messenger. I downloaded loaded it just yesterday to see if I had any old friends on it. Nothing. No one at all uses it. Even the channels were completely empty they had created. I use Google messenger by the way.

Google Voice if you want them to have an actual (free) number. Otherwise, Skype should be fine.

I have installed Google Messenger app on my Android phone. It works best for texting anyone. I think this app is much better than Hangout.

It's really sad that so many people refuse to use it/have dropped it. It has a great UI and great potential...

I wonder if some people know the difference between a sms app and a instant messaging app?

I'm using textra for sms.

At the moment, using Textra because the Nextbit Robin has a 'quirk' that doesn't allow me to send or receive MMS while connected to WiFi.
I didn't know that it was really that cool though. I wish that we had the option to make text black or white, though without changing the background color.

Messenger definitely. I am not a big fan of Viber, but since all my friends are using it, I am forced to haha. So yeah, messenger and Viber are main for me!
