WhatsApp Account issue 'Contacts Will be Archived'

Hi Folks!

Forum newbie here. Asking this on behalf of parents.

My Step-Mum recently gave her OLD Samsung Android device to my Father. She transferred her account to a NEW Device October 2019 and uninstalled WhatsApp from her OLD Device. Her WhatsApp account has been working fine up until now.

My Father installed his OWN SIM card into Step-Mum’s OLD Samsung Android and setup the device using that SIM card and number.

They aren’t technical people and have a joint Gmail address which my Step-Mum uses majority of the time. She used this to setup her CURRENT Android Device and then my Father used it to setup his Android Device (My Step-Mum’s OLD Device).

He then downloaded and setup WhatsApp on his Device, using his OWN phone number & registered SIM card. When he opened WhatsApp for the first time he could see old messages from before my Step-Mum changed to a new device.

It was at this point my Step-Mum received a WhatsApp system message saying her contacts will be archived and account closed after so many days.

They are each using their own Phone Number & SIM cards on their respective devices.

All they want to do is have a functioning WhatsApp app on their respective devices.

Has anyone seen this before, or have experience in something like this?
