Yesterday I updates my s4. Today i can not choose whatsapp as default for messages. It only gives me an option of Messagins SMS of HANGOUT??

This question has been misread/misunderstood all over the forum. He doesnt want to use it as a standard 'sms' app but as the standard messaging app. Meaning when you choose from your contacts to send a message (yellow envelope) the phone will be able to remember which app you want to use by default to send messages: SMS, or Whatsapp, or Hangouts etc...
As I understand from the question he was able to choose before the update and now after the update has lost the option leaving him with always going into SMS app when choosing the 'yellow envelope' from contacts.

When first time prompted which app to use and wether you want it used always or just once, after choosing always the device will not prompt you again unless you clear the settings in settings>more>standard apps (or settings>connections>more networks>standard messaging app)
Note that there may be standard settings for other features aswell, for example standard browser/music player/photo editor/etc..

In some cases the android system doesnt give you the option anymore and just leaves the standard messaging option set to SMS and grayed out in the settings>more>standard apps Its frustrating because you cant do anything about it untill you find out which service is failing to do its job.
