WhatsApp card notification

My Moto360 has started not displaying a card notification when receiving a message via WhatsApp. All other notifications are vibrating and switching on the display with card, but WhatsApp it just vibrates.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installting whatsapp, tried re-syncing the apps, but WhatsApp continues not to switch the screen on ... any ideas?

All factory .. both phone and watch

Has anyone had this or know how to resolve. WhatsApp is the only notification that I don't get the card for on my watch
