WhatsApp is displaying unsupported photos

Hello, whenever I try to send an image or a video, the menu that displays the photos/videos is showing unsupported media. I tried using Google Photos to send a photo but it displays a message that the file format is not supported. Even through they're all JPEG formats.

Edit: I attached a screenshot of the menu. (Note that there are a few photos that are showing) but the majority of my gallery is not.

Edit 2: this problem is also appearing in Google Allo..

Not sure what to tell you - I just tried attaching a few photos using different methods within WhatsApp and all pictures were shown normally.

You could try making a backup of your WhatsApp data then uninstall it and reinstall it and see what happens.

I tried that. Unfortunately it didn't work.

Try from the gallery side. Open the pic, tap share, tap whatsap..

I'd guess that something else got buggered up in the system. Time to consider a Factory Reset.
