Whatsapp message previews not showing on pulldown menu.

Over a month ago, after installing a whatsapp update, I noticed that the message notifications on the pulldown menu started displaying the contents of the incoming messages even with multiple messages from multiple contacts. I found this to be an extremely convenient feature. Sadly, after another update (i think), this feature stopped working. Now, when I recieve more than one message or messages from multiple users, all the notification shows is the total number of messages and contacts (except from 1 specific contact, which I tested yesterday). I tried enabling the pop-up notification feature but I don't like the fact that my 'last seen online' status is updated as soon as I read the pop-ups (without even opening whatsapp), which is the reason why I liked the message preview on the pulldown menu feature in the first place.

I reinstalled whatsapp, updated the samsung push service and looked around the forums for a fix with no success.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a known fix to it?

Hi did you find the solution to this problem? The exact same thing happened to me, was getting proper message previews in the pull down notification centre for about 2-3 days then they stopped and it went back to 'x new messages' (unless it's just one message, then it shows the preview).

None of my friends have this problem on their s3s,from about last month they all get the full message previews for multiple messages.

Does anyone know the fix to this? Any help much appreciated. Cheers

I accidentally found out how to fix this last night. Hahah. They probably added this enable/disable feature after the update but it's NOT through the options menu on Whatsapp that you're supposed to change it, but through the dropdown menu on your phone (Samsung Galaxy S III, in my case).

It's actually quite simple. The next time you find yourself in this situation:

1) Open your phone's drop down menu

2) On the Whatsapp msg notification here, *WITH TWO FINGERS* (one touch will NOT work), press and drag down.

You should now see a detailed display of new messages from each user. If you want to "disable" this feature all you have to do is repeat the same process, except this time you will press and drag upwards.

does anyone know if reading the message on the pulldown notifacation on galaxy s4 updates your last seen on whatsapp? even if you dont have whatsapp open? reply if you know please

i tried that and it worked but i have to keep doingiteverytime. also, when its more than one conversation it only displays the messages from the last person who sent a whatsapp. is there a way around that?
