WhatsApp Notification repeating over bluetooth

Hello,

I have a Galaxy S9+ when I use my Bose QC35 Bluetooth headphones and I receive a WhatsApp Notification, it will play over and over, every second, even once read.

Even when disconnect the Bluetooth Headphones it plays through the phone speakers. It continues even when I close WhatsApp. The only way of stopping it is restarting my phone.

It's interesting to note that when I turn the Media volume down, the repeating notification sound decreases too.

I have been unable to find anything in the forums about this bug.

Also interesting to note, if the notification is repeating every second, and another one comes in, that will also repeat, it is very frustrating.

This is nothing to do with repeating unread notifications, it is definitely a bug.

Has anyone experienced this? Can i fix it?

I have encountered this issue to

It went away when I went into Whatsapp and changed the notification tone for messages and groups to Silent, which fixed it. I then tried Default notification noise (look at me) which also worked.

Now I get one bing for a message
