whatsapp notifications

thinking about getting an android auto headunit.
however, is it possible to have whatsapp messages/notifications NOT show up on the headunit?

i'd rather not have the distraction of notifications popping up all the time whilst driving.

Whatsap didn't show on mine... I use S8 with Uconnect in my jeep...

i'm talking about Android Auto though, not Uconnect.
