Question WhatsApp on linked secondary device not syncing after battery dies?

Does anyone else have syncing issues with WhatsApp on a linked secondary device after that device runs out of battery? I have linked a second phone to my WhatsApp account and it works completely fine for the most part. But the issue is that I don't charge the secondary phone often so it is sometimes dead for a couple of days. After I recharge it again WhatsApp simply doesn't want to sync anymore. The only (quick) solution I found was to unlink the phone and then relink it again, after which it works fine again.
