Iv'e disabled some, but some I am unsure of because I don't know the effects it would have on my device to continue to function properly. Thanks in advance.
I also came from a Droid X, Welcome! ICS introduced the ability to disable apps without rooting. You will want to do that, what you disable is a personal preference, but here is a list of what I disabled:
Allshare Controller (Samsung)
Allshare Play (Samsung)
Amazon Kindle
Verizon Apps
Backup Assistant (Verizon)
Backup Assistant Plus
Color
Google +
Media Hub (Samsung)
Music Hub (Samsung)
My Verizon Mobile
S Suggest (Samsung)
S Voice (Samsung)
Samsung Account
Samsung Backup Provider
Samsung Cloud Data Relay
Samsung Cloud Syncadaptors
Samsung Push Service
Vcast tones
VZ Navigator
Yahoo Finance
Yahoo News
***These are all safe to disable.
Here are my must haves:
Aquamail - a superior email program.
Solid Explorer - Great file manager
Chrome - Much better than the stock browser
Foxfi - or use Widgetsoid for "T"
Nova Launcher -
PowerAmp - music player
Swiftkey or Swype
I did answer the question, by providing a link that answered it... You added nothing at all...Hey Mike's cut the sarcasm. Who gives a hoot that you always search. I never search and get respectable answers. Don't answer if its a pain for you
If you are unsure whether to disable something come back and post on this thread and I or someone else will help you.
I always force stop, Uninstall updates and then choose disable. How do I disable? Inside the task manager, I can select a running app and select "Stop". But for some apps, like AllShare Play, they restart on their own?
