I imagine the international version will get it first.

I used to have a galaxy S3 and every update from Google came 4 months after they pushed it out, that's because Samsung has to grab the update and do their changes to the firmware, to match their UI, when they are done with that then they would push it out to you guys,. I love my Nexus 5 because every update from Google there comes to us right away.

You mentioned that you are running 4.4.2, on your phone now.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4, and I am running 4.4.4 with CM11.

Sony actually made a nice blog about this (cant post links sorry). Apparently it is a LOT of working doing this. Not only programming, but mainly getting approval for the new firmware from all service providers (phone companies).

For this reason it takes quite a long time for them to have this working on all their phones, and for older phones this is most often not worth it.

IF it arrives, you are probably looking at 6-12 months. It's a drawback of having an Android system (with many different phones and each manufacturer having its own skin and apps) that it takes a long time to het system updates (if ever).

Sony posted an interesting blog on this and why it takes so long for Android updates to reach end users.

It is one of the drawbacks of Android (and one of its strengths) that it runs on different devices with very different hardware. Moreover, many manufacturers have their own skin that they need to modify for a new Android release.

For older phones this is often not even worth doing. For newer ones it usually takes 6-12 months...

Yes because Samsung testes it... Remind me how google rushed 4.4 to the google nexus 5 only to have to release 3 more versions to fix nexus 5 specific bugs and you have a giant camera drain bug.
