Dosen't it go back to the previous screen it always takes me back to the top of the previous page???

It'll do that for me sometimes on certain sites. For instance, forums. Pressing back again would usually take me back a page.

As far as I'm aware, browsers since the beginning of the internet have gone to the previous page in the browsing history. I'm not sure what other behavior one would expect...

I have no issues with the back button in the stock browser. It takes me back a page. It doesn't send me to mars, though.

I think what this person is saying is that when you hit the back button on your browser it takes you to where you were in the previous page, instead of the top of the page.

On some sites I notice when hitting the back button it takes you instead to the top of the page.

Of course I could be wrong in my interpretation of this....

The only thing I dont like is I thought you were supposed to back out of apps to close them (dont remember where I read that) to properly close them so they dont run in the background. Dolphon browser has an exit option in the menu setting but the stock one does not so I was always backing out that way until I started closing the window then hitting the back button once.

Am I totally off with this?

When i hit arrow back, it takes me back to top of previous page not to where I was on that page.

Sounds like you're out of luck. I did a few experiments - tried turning off 'autofit' and 'open in overview' in settings, independently and together. Hitting back briefly shows the previous position, then the page goes back up to the top. So I guess that's the way it is. I guess you could always long-press links and open them in a new window if you're scrolling through a long blog or something...
