When does the nexus 4 begin shipping

Hi everyone,
Hope the Americans are staying warm and toasty through Hurricane Sandy....
Am curious a to when the Nexus 4 will begin shipping. Am guessing the pre-orders are already live (I cannot view the playstore link from my country).I simply must have this gorgeous slab of glass, so am having someone pre-order it for me, as evidenced by the fiasco that was the nexus 7 where shipping was extreeemely slow, should i give them the green light to order or wait for brick and mortar stores to get it?
Keep in mind that the guy supposed to bring it to me in Kenya is scheduled to travel on December 4th....
PS: I dont trust my postal mail service. They will either slap a HUGE tax on me or the item will just "dissappear" ** Sigh 3rd world problems

To my understanding, Google isn't doing pre orders this time around. I think the deal is it's going to be released on the 13th and the 13th is when you'll be able to purchase it.

Shipping depends on how long it takes UPS to get it to you, there is no set answer, the device will be available for sale on the 13th, I doubt orders will ship until a day or 3 following purchase.

Sorry for the bum information. So at 12 midnight on the 13th we can buy it? Anyone know if they're expecting a sell out so we have to order right away?! I can't wait for it!!

maybe not on mid night. probably be midday.

check the front news on 13th and you will be the first one to know when its available for purchase.

I have a feeling that there might be a good chance of that happening. I'm not going to risk it. Might not be getting much sleep that night...

It'll be interesting to see how well Google has it together for this. When I ordered the GN it took them about 5 days to finally start shipping the thing out. But the N7 likely went quite a bit smoother.

Also, with the GN....the only shipping option was 2 days. So it'l likely be 2 days after they ship for you to receive the item unless they give us more shipping options this time.

That is why am asking this. The N7 had a huge problem with shipping. People got it up to 3 weeks after they had ordered. And by that time, it had already reached brick and motor stores

Wow, this is suprising. Nobody actually knows when it begins shipping. The November 13 date is either a pr-order date or a shipping date.
