When I try to delete a letter, it deleted the one before that instead.

It doesn't happen all the time, but I may make a spelling mistake, and I try to delete a letter, and it deleted the letters before that. I am using a Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) and Google Keyboard.

So for example I will be typing
'I am writing this question'

But I put the wrong letter for question and put
'I am writing this w'

I will try and simply press backspace/delete and instead of deleting the incorrect letter, it deleted the space between 'this' and 'w'. And if I keep pressing delete/backspace, it continues to do this until I have deleted all of the sentence. Thanks for your help.

Welcome to Android Central! Does this persist after a reboot?

Also, I've been seeing occasional keyboard glitches associated with updates to the Android System Webview app. Go to the Play Store, search for Android System Webview, and Uninstall (which will only uninstall updates). Then see if the problem persists.
