when i will be getting 8.1 oreo update for my s9 plus

currently my phone is running 8.0 oreo update.

Most likely, we will stay on 8.0 and just get security updates from now on. It seems only the Note 9 has gotten 8.1 as it shipped with it.

I've never seen a Samsung phone update to the .1 release at least going back to when I got my first Samsung phones which were the Note Edge/Note 4.

The launch pattern during the last few years has been the S-series will get the new x.0 releases and the Note-series will get the x.1 releases for the calendar year. At least on Verizon, monthly security updates will start about 3 months after launch.

I think that the S9 still being on 8 shows how much Samsung cares about project treble. It really should have had 8.1 now.

You won't, you will remain on 8.0. Only the note 9 gets 8.1, and that's the normal way of things with Samsung.

Your next OS change will likely be around February next year when you'll get pie.
