this is really starting to bug me now. Stock G2, not rooted, using default texting app. When I open a text message thread for the first time after a reboot, the view will take me to the top of the thread (i.e. the oldest message in the thread). If I back out or go home, and then go into the text messaging app again and open the same thread, it now takes me to the bottom (i.e. the most recent message).

I would prefer if the text messaging app always took me to the newest message (bottom), and never to the oldest message (top). Is this a known glitch?

I've noticed this on occasion. My wife has the G2 as well and seems to experience it more than I do. I haven't really figured out what the cause is, but you're definitely not alone.

I was using textra and found out that half my messages were not coming through. So i've been using the stock sms app and I have noticed this too.

I also noticed this. Very annoying. So I tried handcent and go. Both are the most used texting apps and have been around for a long time. I personally like the go sms app better.

I started using Textra as well and had the same issue. I found out that I had phone numbers saved in the wrong format. They should be saved as (xxx) xxx-xxxx rather than +1 xxx-xxx-xxxx. If you do that to the contacts you are having problems with and start a new message thread with them, you should be good to go! Textra is a fantastic app once you get that settled.

I have the same issue with my text also. Im glad i can get to the newest one with the slider on the right side. It should be fixed with 4.3 in 20 years from verizon. 😆

Kudo's on the 20 year comment. Thanks for the slider tip... ;)

Um, all you have to do is open the keyboard by pressing in the message box, which you have to do to reply anyways, and it automatically jumps to the newest message.

Definitely forgot to post this on my post above. Thanks.
