When should I charge my HTC Desire 320?

I have a new HTC Desire 320. This is my first Android device. I'm not sure how low I should let my battery go before I charge it. Also, should it always be charged to 100%?

I suppose we're well past the days where batteries had "memories" and would be damaged by being charged too often or not charged fully; then again, maybe I'm overly optimistic. I'd appreciate some guidance on when to charge it and how much to charge it.

Is it a good or bad idea to charge it every night as I sleep?

Will it do any damage to the phone if I leave it charging, either via USB or a wall plug, long after it's fully charged?

Li-ion batteries don't like to be drained to completely dead and they don't like to be charged to full but with that being said the battery monitors don't allow either of those things to really happen.
I would avoid leaving your phone dead where it force turns off and then not ever charge it after that as that will probably do bad things to the phone eventually but most people use their phones daily so I don't think that is an issue.

That being said, if you aren't exhausting your battery every day because of constant usage ( I only drop about 50% through the course of a day with moderate use) then you should be fine with just plugging it in and charging it over night. You probably will not kill the battery on that device prior to deciding to upgrade if you do so within 4 years. I am not a battery expert by any means but I know what I have read about Li-ion batteries and my experience with phones over time so don't sweat it.

Anyone else have any better information please add or fix what I have said.
