When should I publish a paid version?

I am just finished the work on my app in the first version. At the moment the app is only for free, but I am thinking about a paid version as well.

When is the best time to publish a paid version? Should I introduce as soon as possible or wait untile I have more downloads?

Sure, I can move a set of feature to the paid version. But then the people will not so interested in the free version!?

Sorry, I meant add a bunch more features to a premium or upgrade version that justify the cost. Not moving features out and into the paid version.
