When to recharge?

Been using my new Pixel 6 Pro for a couple weeks now. So far, the battery has been getting me around a 2 full days, with 30% left at the beginning of the 3rd day. It says I have 10+ hours left. I could probably make it till I get home from work to put it on the charger, but should I charge it before it hits 30%? Should I use the chargers 2.4amp port, or "low and slow" overnight with the lower power port? But is it bad to charge it to 100%? I have Adaptive Battery enabled. I assume that helps extend the long term life of the battery?

I charge mine when it needs it, I usually put it on the charger around 30-35% and let it go till fully charged. I don't usually keep my phones for more than 2 years so I will not damage the battery sufficiently in that short amount of time to make a huge difference.

Not sure how many years I will keep this phone, but kept my last one 5 years (yes, the batteries are shot, but also used to occasionally let it go to zero charge and back up to 100%. Would like this one to live as long a useful life as possible.

I think if you don't let your phone's battery die too often; don't overcharge; charge when you need it; it should be okay! :) Everyone will give you differing advice on what you should do whilst charging your phone. Do what feels right and try not to worry!

You can set your Pixel to charge to 85% instead of 100. I have been doing this on 2 phones. I still have plenty of battery left after a day (usually 30-40%) and just charge it slowly (adaptive) overnight.

Excellent advice, excellent! There are tons of articles and advice on the world-wide-web-of-things that get way too technical into these kinds of things. Your advice makes sense.

I had my Pixel 4XL almost two years, placed it on my Pixel Stand every night when I went to sleep and took it off every morning when I woke up. Still had great battery life 2 years later and I never worried about my battery 1 second during those 2 years.

How in the world do you get it to last 2 days?! I'm ending the day with less than 30% but I also get about 45 min of nav and 30min of streaming shows during lunch.

I'm a pretty light user. No streaming anything, just occasional texts and calls so far, not too much screen on time (though I have it set to straight up 100% brightness)

And for a lot of us, two years is the lifespan of our devices. We may not own the phone long enough to see any kind of battery degradation. I usually keep mine for about 14-20 months -- which means I *may* see something, but even so, it's doubtful. :)

And don't forget people, the battery is actually replaceable. Depending on the phone, might be easy for you to to, or might cost less than 100. I've always lived under the idea that use the way that is easiest for you. My 4XL is over two-years old, I have always charged it fully every night I could (excluding camping, and some traveling) and it still hold a charge with no noticeable drop from use. And I have replaced a few batteries on cell phones and most are not hard.

Still using my Pixel 3 with no battery issues. I reboot it and throw it on the wireless charge (not rapid charge) before I go to bed. Battery almost always lasts the full day even though I am on it more often than I care to admit. Been doing this for years with my phones and none have required a new battery. I rarely use the plug in rapid charge unless I need it quickly.

I never paid any attention to how often I charge or what charger was used (and have a lot)...I have 10 year old Google phones(N4) that are still totally usable...My Pixel 5 has no sign of Battery weakness. The P 4A my wife used until recently was the only phone I would have found unusable...but that was bad to start with.

In my case I really could care less...I plug my phone in and snap it on the mount every time I jump in a vehicle.
