When transfering files from PC ' Device stopped responding or was disconnected' errors

Every time I try to transfer a file (movie) over to my phone when connected to my PC, it will start the copying and then prompt me saying the device has stopped responding or has been disconnected. EVERY TIME! Ive updated my drivers, made sure my USB debugging says its MTP connected (or whatever its called), tried multiple USB cables. Once in a while it will allow me to successfully transfer but 9 out of 10 times it does not. Any suggestions?
