When will Banking apps be available directly from AppGallery?

Haha, I guess this is as good a time as any to talk about colonialism and Chinese developments. Anyway, I think they are still "technically" a British company, but such a huge corporation is not bound by mere national borders, it exists everywhere (kinda like "god" . It might have originated in China, but only geographically.

I phone cloned my banking apps across like most others and with Aptoide the Apps get updated including Banking Apps as my HSBC one updated last night

Ouch, that's a HUGE security risk getting a banking app from an unofficial third party source.

I used mine through petal search with first direct and i know it has 4 levels of security so for me its no different to play store, surely aptoide has to have something similar?

Any third party app source has potential for corrupted/infected apps. Moreso than the Play store because the apps are uploaded by random people rather than the company itself. Not something I'd put trust in with my personal and private information.

I wonder if the optimise feature would catch it though? I tried to download a dodgy app from the playstore and it told me not to

as I said in another post, before relying on any banking app that you cannot get from the official store for your specific phone, you better make sure the bank will cover you in case of fraudulent activity in your account. Use at your own risk.

From what I'm reading, Petal Search is only a search engine, similar to a Google search. It's not an app store (in fact, you can use Huawei's app store to download it), and the links to apk's it gives you are to unofficial third party app stores. Being pre-installed has nothing to do with app security.

That depends on if the bank has a way to determine if an app accessing it is legit, which I can easily imagine being something a hacker could bypass. Hack on a key logger, forge the app signature, and boom, an infected but usable app.

True, but you're not going to find hacked versions of banking apps there. At least not uploaded by the bank itself. What you are referring to is mostly random apps uploaded by a malicious developer advertising a popular service. I.e. Fake file managers. If in doubt, go direct to your bank's site and look for the direct link to download their app. That link would take you to their official app without a doubt.
