When will LG release newest security patch?

I read the latest news on the new security flaws found in the latest version of Android, and the article talked about fixing it with the latest November patch. How long does LG take to release updates and patches?

Typically once every three months. I was taken off guard last month when there was a software update.

If you are in the USA, there is an extra lag from the carriers since they are the ones actually distributing the updates.

That does not bode well, since I am using my phone on Total Wireless, not Verizon.
