When will the new Nexus 7 with LTE come out???

Also a question: I don't want to pay for two data plans. Are there any carriers in the US that would allow me to have two devices on the same, say, 3 GB plan without paying extra?

If not, I'll simply tether and get the WiFi only Nexus 7.

No, you can add a device to an account but you will pay extra for another device.

My resolve to wait for the LTE model is cracking. Really tempted to run by the Best Buy on the way home and pick one up and tether if need be.

I bought two as gifts today and was suitably impressed. Even though the 7" size was too small for me the higher res, ppi, and much better color and contrast on this one have won me over. I'm annoyed to have to pay $30 per month for 2 GB of Verizon LTE on my iPad but I really can't see not having it on this device especially if you also want to use it as a phone. Why they couldn't have LTE out the same day as this one is beyond me. Apple doesn't have any issues doing it.
But again $30 for 2 GB is ripoff pricing despite 430 not being a significant amount for me.

Not that anyone has asked but I don't really care when it comes out. I don't feel like being ____ed carrier-style because watch them be the only ones selling the thing. This device is excellent at the price that it is but I would not pay a lot more for it. Screen withstanding, this is a "budget" tablet.

So what is the BEST 7" tablet to get??

But with the LTE being unlocked this will open up the doors for people and close a few for carriers possibly. It's designed to be a budget tablet, but not really give the feel of one and it's still very competitive for the price against the iPad mini.

Tough question because some peeps throw the iPad mini into the 7" realm. But speaking 7" only and price and features -- Nexus 7 wins hands down imo. Even against the iPad Mini it mostly comes down to iOS vs. Android.

The only answer Google gave is "in the coming weeks" -- you'd think with school/college starting up they'd want to get them rolled out for that, could be a hit.

I don't have a smart phone and was just about to get one, when the new N7 was announced. Now I prefer keeping my old basic phone and getting a N7 LTE.

Really hope that the LTE comes out by late Aug.

BTW, does anyone know if unlocking will be available immediately, following the LTE coming to the market? How much would it cost approximately?

What do you mean by that? It will be sold unlocked by Google. You are not committed to any specific carrier.

I heard that the LTE will only be sold by the carriers. If Google is going to sell unlocked ones, that would be a great news!

The bandwidth that the new Nexus 7 covers for lte is the full range including the newest 700 and 750 bands, so as far as lte goes it is way ahead of most cell phones. It is unlocked so all companies are covered.

If it must be a 7" one then I suppose this is the best one. No one is making a high end device in that exact size right now. If you go up about an inch the iPad mini and maybe even the 8" Tab 3 enter the conversation, even though both have inferior screens. They feel better in terms of quality to me, especially the mini. I have owned all three (returned the Tab once the new N7 released because its $100 less and well, vanilla Android) and if I was required, I'd stay with the mini. I just can't see myself doing the amount of work I do on any other smaller tablet.

I tether my gen1 N7 to my Galaxy Nexus phone, I don't see any reason to get LTE in the tablet itself. I run rooted so tethering is built in but there are Android apps that will enable free tethering on a non-rooted Adroid device. BTW the apps a perfectly legal even though they annoy the carriers, the FCC fined Verizon a million bucks for trying to block them.
