Whats the first thing you are going to do?

Are you going to rock 7.1 as it was meant to be? Are you going to immediately install Nova Launcher or some other alternate launcher? I think I'm going to go barebones ANdroid... its been a long time since I did that.

Re: When you get yours...

First thing I would do was to try out the camera to capture some beautiful images and videos, in the meantime I wanted to find out the difference between Google Now and Google Assistant, lastly would be look into the UI difference between Stock Android and "Pixel Android".

Re: When you get yours...

After setting it up, I'll be playing around with Google Assistant and then test out the camera.

I won't bother with a launcher. I'll rock Google's Pixel Launcher for a while and see if I like it. If not, I'll go back to Google Now Launcher.

Re: When you get yours...

I'll test out the difference between google assistant and google now. Anyway I usually run stock android on my phones so, I'll probably run the new pixel launcher till the end of the phone. My only gripe with the nexus launchers is the white app drawer and setting page. I mean, what does it really cost to put in dark node on these phones? Especially now that they rock amoled screens? Smh

Re: When you get yours...

I will start with the Pixel Launcher, but will likely switch to TSF Launcher after a few days.

Re: When you get yours...

I am going to comb through every setting on the phone (coming from years of touchwiz ) see what the Pixel Launcher has to offer, and take pictures :)

Re: When you get yours...

I typically spend a couple hours setting up the phone as I like it. I get the sounds, home screen, and other settings fixed. I make sure all my accounts are correct and get my apps setup.

Then I hide the phone from my kids.

Re: When you get yours...

I'm putting a hyperblack titanium dbrand skin on my really blue Pixel so i can have the color scheme i really want :)

And you guys better not copy my idea!

Re: When you get yours...

I'll load basic apps on it and try to play around with it as stock. I don't really like to modify my phones, but on my 5X I've been using FireFox with uBlock Origin. I'll give Chrome another chance and see if they've changed anything but if it still can't do adblocking... It'll be Firefox or I'll give Pyrope Browser another shot since it has claims of Snapdragon improvements (doesn't seem to work with the 808 in my Nexus 5X, it is incredibly slow).

Also if anyone knows of a vertical launcher that actually is updated and works let me know. I miss this style most from my windows phone and want something that has support and is lightweight. Perhaps I'll just have to work on developing my own...

Re: When you get yours...

I will rock the default launcher. I will login, let all apps download, and then play around with it / Google assistant :).

Re: When you get yours...

Scroll up and down thru websites and see if it lags, open up Pokemon go, asphalt 8, facebook, render a video thru photoshop, and run a geekbench all at the same time to see if this "821" snapdragon (which is a overclocked 820 according to my coworker) is really any different from the 820, then open nova launcher and scroll thru widgets on my home screen to see if any lag persist, then do a 1 on one comparison speed test against iphone 7 plus, if it beats that then I honestly wont wanna returned it😎

Re: When you get yours...

Run stock android, log in to all my applications and google services, and use it.

Re: When you get yours...

For me it's going to be a 2 week setting in to see if I like it more than the Samsung experience. This and the S7 edge are my 2 choices I'm looking at. I know exactly what Samsung is, so I bought this one.

Re: When you get yours...

Stock Pixel Launcher... I'm used to Now Launcher and don't have an issue with it, Pixel is not much different.

Also, if Google Assistant doesn't work with other launchers at first I'm definitely not using anything else.

Re: When you get yours...

Install SwiftKey. I've tried the Google keyboard in the past and could never get comfortable with it. Maybe I should give it another go.

Go through settings and refresh myself on what android has to offer. Download a whole bunch of apps and watch some videos that showcase that screen 😍
