Where are text messages stored

I tried digging around on the forums but could not find the answer. Can someone please tell me where text messages are stored on the Droid x. I know there are programs out there that backup, but that is not what I am looking for.

Go to your text messaging icon in the launcher, when I open that app, all of my texts are there. If you were curious as to where the files are so you can transfer to your sd card... then I have no idea. But, you can always forward the texts to another acount by selecting the text, then once it is open touch and hold the text bubble and a window will pop up with options.
