Isn't there and LCD notification light behind the top speaker? I don't see LED in Settings.

Moto phones only have the LED for the purpose of indicating the phone is charging when the battery is too depleted to power the screen.

Nexus six uses ambient display. Move or pick up the phone and you will see your notifications.

Light flow is an app for previous nexus devices where you could assign specific led colors to notification light. There is buzz on XDA about a led light behind the top speaker and creator of the app is looking to see if the 6 could benefit. For me I'd prefer the notification light to ambient display. I don't run security on lock screen and have found my phone doing things on its own while in my jean pockets.

yeah, I turned off ambient display because the display keeps turning on while it's just sitting on the table without new message coming in.

That's how it works...

haha, really? so it just turns on by itself without me touching it or without new incoming notification? I thought it only activate when either I pick up the phone or a new notification comes in.
