Where are you getting your Xoom?

I held off on the Best Buy pre order because I can't get anyone on the phone at my local store and it's a 15 minute walk so I'm going to Verizon on Thursday at opening. (Maybe a few minutes before)

I'm pretty sure I read in one of the Xoom threads that dell/wirefly and someone else were shipping out tomorrow for arrival on 2/24

If Costco is waiving the activation fee, ill be going there for sure. If not, where ever has them in stock when I take my lunch break on Thursday

I'm going to Costco. I got too many conflicting & weird answers at Best Buy and, the cell phone rep at Costco was very nice and helpful.

Costco for me. No activation fee , plus the best return policy in the business. 3 months no questions asked. Gives you an opportunity for price to drop or maybe wi-fi only version.

Pre order at best buy but I will go to Verizon and wait outside in line. If they have one for me ill just get it there since I need to get my accessories there anyway. If the lines long or they don't have it ill just go down the road and get my pre order.

I actually am not sure if it applies to something like the XOOM, since a contract of some sort is involved. I was told you have only 14 days for a full refund and 90 days for an exchange of some sort.

I have mine fully pre-paid for at BB, but I might just get it at VZW and then return the gift cards, once BB refunds the $$$ to my credit card I'll just pay it off.

Not to speak for him, but he could have done it that way to split the cost across multiple bank accounts.

The cashier can put any amount on any card. If you hand the cashier 5 cards and say split it across, they will. Just doesnt make sense (to me) to buy gift cards in the amount the pre-order will cost you, especially when you may return said gift cards.

I checked them on this. The contract money you don't get back obviously, but the device is still 100% returnable. Especially sonce these are month to month contracts.

Best Buy for me. Its interesting that the other guy was able to prepay in full. I tried doing that and was told no.

Pre-ordered at Best Buy, but hope to pick one up at Costco for at least some sort of discount. Can always spend the $50 gift card on something else at Best Buy.
