where can i find the phone app icon?

i just switched from an unlocked US S21 to S24. and when i clicked on the phone icon on my home screen it asked me to switch default phone apps. i realized then that there was a newer phone app on the newer phone. i am happy to use the newer app. but there is no icon for it in my app drawer. where can i grab the phone app's icon to place on my home screen? i am using nova as my launcher if that makes a difference. danke schon!

Check if you have a Samsung folder in your apps list. Sometimes some apps are buried in there.

found the culprit. under nova settings was an option to hide specific apps from the app drawer and phone was selected. thank you!

i wonder if there were two "phone" apps on my previous galaxy S21 and i chose to hide one then. my settings transfered when i installed nova on the new S24.

Maybe. On your S21, did you have both the Google Phone app (blue phone with white background) and the stock Samsung Phone app (white phone with green background) installed?

Nova settings do not automatically transfer, but you can do a backup/restore of the settings.
