Where did all my texts go?

My galaxy s8+ recently got the Pie update. Not sure how I feel about it yet, but certainly not pleased to see that all my text messages have been wiped out. Any ideas on where they might have gone? Does it default a different SMS app with the update that might not have ported in my old messages? Or is it likely that it just deleted everything?

Give it a minute, they will eventually repopulate. I had the same thing, opened one message up this morning and everything then popped in.
