Where did my MMS go?

I have a Moto Z Droid Force. I have noticed a few of my longer text or picture messages being gone in the morning when I turn my phone back on. Does anyone know why my phone is automatically deleting these? It's not the "delete messages after x number of days" because it's the next morning. Thanks!!!

You have a settings in messages saying delete older messages when you reach a certain number....

Did you ever find a fix to this? I have the same phone and it happens to me ALL THE TIME. Pictures or long texts that convert themselves to MMS messages delete and I'm so annoyed. I don't have the "delete older messages" setting applied, my syncing with the cloud is off, so I cannot figure it out. I have Verizon as my cell carrier but looking at your post, wonder if it's a Moto Issue.
